  1. If you could go back in time and start over given what you have learned in your career so far, what changes and approach would you have done differently?

My goal is to be one of the top bass producers in the world. I would have loved to have visited the US earlier, so that I could have experienced the bass scene there. I believe that it would have made a positive impact on me as a producer.

  1. If there was one thing you could change in the bass scene, what would it be and why?

I would like to define a whole new subgenre. I feel that there’s not enough hip-hop or trap presence in the bass scene. I would love to help introduce bass music to a much bigger audience, by tying in those elements. My inspirations are artists like Kendrick Lamar, 21 Savage, Kanye West, Mac Miller, Notorious B.I.G, and Wu Tang Clan.

1.If you could go back in time and start over given what you have learned in your career so far, what changes and approach would you have done differently?

I think I would just put less pressure on myself with the understanding that the only thing standing in anyone’s way is time. If you put in the time, be patient, and make music that is true to yourself – people eventually start to notice. It’s all about finding your tribe, a group of people that believe in you and support you. I’m very grateful to have found that in my Sweetsounds, Gradient Perspective, and Hemi.Wav crews. The best way to find that is by providing that support and respect first! Find artists you appreciate and give them love. It goes a long way.

  1. If there was an artist you had the chance to collaborate with, who would it be and why?

Oh man there’s quite a few, but for me that artist right now is Cartridge. I’m obsessed with his ability to make powerful minimalist tracks while staying true to the dubstep sound. He’s top of my list. A few honorable mentions: Notlo, Veil, Enigma Dubz, The Widdler.

Camnah Reaches A New Spectrum w/ New ‘Arcadia EP’

Camnah Reaches A New Spectrum w/ New ‘Arcadia EP’

If you have been looking for an absolutely amazing up and coming artist that will melt your brain with some insane high energy tunes, look no further than today’s artist Camnah. Coming out swinging with his newest 2 track EP, Arcadia, Camnah showcases two very different aspects that is evident in the titles “Growth” and “Decay”. Masterfully using two different experimental bass sounds and combining both up tempo and downtempo styles to showcase the duality of these concepts through sound. Both of these track take you on an incredible journey through both a high energy and calm soundscapes that will leave you yearning for more, so make sure you don’t sleep on this release. Let’s take a deeper dive into why we are calling the Arcadia EP, a certified bop.

“Arcadia was a mysterious place, full of mythical creatures living in it, including several gods and goddesses. Arcadia was known as an “idyllically pastoral” or “idyllically innocent, simple, or untroubled.” Desponia, one of the oldest cults in history began to take over Arcadia and to defend this mystical place, the gods created the “Veil of Desponia.”  This became a symbol for balance, with the growth of mankind being met by the decay of this pure land.”

  1. What has been one of the most memorable career achievements so far as an artist and how did that impact you moving forward?

I always feel that my most memorable achievement is seeing my idols play my music out. Recently, I received a clip of an unreleased collab with Omnist being played out by kLL sMTH at infrasound and it’s just such a surreal feeling. I look up to these artists and to see producers like Zeds Dead play a song I make in my basement at red rocks is the boost of confidence that drives me in the studio.

  1. What’s one artist you’re grateful for that has inspired you to be where you are today and why?

Currently my biggest inspirations are VCTRE and Black Carl! for multiple reasons but the biggest is seeing where they started and their path to success by staying true to the music and creating what they want when they want is something I strive for everyday.

  1. What has been one of the most memorable career achievements so far as an artist and how did that impact you moving forward?

Achieving my own sound as weird as that sounds. once i learned how to truly make the music that i wanted to make, it really opened a lot of doors for me creatively. i was able to take things that i think make up the “space wizard sound” and replicate those in to any genre.

  1. If you could go back in time and start over given what you have learned in your career so far, what changes and approach would have done differently?

probably to explore making music i wanted to make earlier. i think a lot of my mind was dead set on if i open ableton, i have to make something i can release/play at a show and that can be a toxic mindset. your hobby becomes a true job at that point and you can lose sight of why you made the music in the first place. i think once i started to just make random beats and ambient stuff again i started to get more comfortable writing bangers again.

  1. What’s one artist you’re grateful for that has inspired you to be where you are today and why?

One artist? This is a loaded question haha, there are so many musicians and artists out there who have inspired me and this is tricky to answer. That said, Ternion Sound come to mind. In addition to the fresh excitement they’ve injected into the 140/UK Dubstep scene (go check them out if you don’t know), they were also the first major artist to play out any of my music live, while I was in attendance. Eternally grateful to those lads.

  1. What would you tell your younger self today knowing where you’re at now and what it took to get there?

So I started listening to electronic music back in 2006, when I was introduced to Pendulum’s Hold Your Colour album. Back then, the head of music at my high school dissuaded me from trying to make electronic music myself, as he saw it as a lesser art form. If I could go back, I would tell my younger self to trust his instincts more, and make the music that makes you happy! If only I’d started 15 years ago…

Xotix Hits Hard w/ New Single via BEST COAST EP

Xotix Hits Hard w/ New Single via BEST COAST EP

Back and better than ever is one of our favorite heavy hitting freeform duo Xotix, coming out swinging today with the release of their latest single off their new EP “Best Coast”. This 4 track heater features the classic uptempo sound we love from these producers melded into some new fresh tracks that you don’t want to miss. Each of these tracks packs a punch, flowing perfectly into the next to create an insane high tempo compilation. The title track off this EP, which we have the pleasure of premiering for you all today, hits hard with some incredible up tempo drops, crunchy basslines and wonky synths that will have any basshead up on their feet and raging. The rest of the 4 track project will be released in it’s entirety on the 21st, for the mean time we are being blessed with this lead single. Now it’s time to take a deeper dive into why we are calling the “Best Coast”, a certified bop.

“‘Best Coast’ originally started as a VIP for our song ‘West Coast’ which came out 2 years ago. The only thing we really left was the arpeggio in the beginning. Once we got the drops going we knew it needed to be it’s own tune, and we ended up liking it so much that we named the whole ep after it. “

  1. If there was one thing you could change in the bass scene, what would it be and why?

There are a ton of super talented underground acts and it would be cool to see them have more visibility and move up on lineups.

  1. Is there a message you would like to portray through your music, and if so, what would it be?

Have fun and dance your ass off!
