JABBS Pushes Boundaries w/ New ‘Nameless EP’ via Street Ritual

Being able to push the boundaries of sound and create music that is limitless is a challenge that every musical artist faces throughout their career. Being able to do this takes lots of talent and JABBS is definitely one of these artists that continues to excel in the bass music scene. Coming to you fresh with his latest EP Nameless, this Bay Area producer has put together an intense but beautiful compilation of tracks that explores both the emotional and darker tones of this project. Our premiere track today off this EP, “Karma Cream” shows off JABBS’s Middle Eastern roots balanced by fuzzy basslines, a deep downtempo sound design and a distinct tone of wind instruments all strung together. This track and the entire EP is a unique journey from start to finish that you definitely don’t want to miss out on hearing as soon as possible. 1.If you could go back in time and start over given what you have learned in your career so far, what changes and approach would you have done differently?

 

I think I would just put less pressure on myself with the understanding that the only thing standing in anyone’s way is time. If you put in the time, be patient, and make music that is true to yourself – people eventually start to notice. It’s all about finding your tribe, a group of people that believe in you and support you. I’m very grateful to have found that in my Sweetsounds, Gradient Perspective, and Hemi.Wav crews. The best way to find that is by providing that support and respect first! Find artists you appreciate and give them love. It goes a long way.

 

  1. If there was an artist you had the chance to collaborate with, who would it be and why?

 

Oh man there’s quite a few, but for me that artist right now is Cartridge. I’m obsessed with his ability to make powerful minimalist tracks while staying true to the dubstep sound. He’s top of my list. A few honorable mentions: Notlo, Veil, Enigma Dubz, The Widdler.
