Future Twist Break Through w/ “Everything Is Fine In Arcadia” EP

If you’ve been in search of an electronic project that can transcend through time itself thanks to their upbeat and futuristic cyber punk style , boy do we have a treat for you. Future Twist , the dynamic duo sent from the depths of an alter reality , are here to disrupt the balance of frequencies set in motion by past individuals. Time to take a dive into their newest 4 track auditory experience titled ‘Everything is Fine in Arcadia EP’ , a mind bending dystopia meant for all those looking to get down to dubstep of neon descent. Today we get the honor of premiering “O.V.E.R.” , our personal favorite of the 4. Join us as we unravel the reasoning for what makes this particular track what we like to call, a certified bop.

“O.V.E.R.” is the final screen in the immersive world of Arcadia. This track is the close of the EP, and which remix of the final boss stage, “Robot Fight Night” you listen to determines if this is a winning high-score screen, or a losing game-over.

DIVING DEEP W/ FUTURE TWIST

What’s one artist you’re grateful for that has inspired you to be where you are today and why?

Pixel Terror has been one of our biggest inspirations over the past few years, and it’s been a huge honor to get to know them, and play direct support for them in our hometown. They’re consistently pushing the envelope on Melodic-Yet-Heavy electronic music these days, and Ahrya’s solo Bosquet project is absolutely beautiful. They’re easily some of the most skilled and talented musicians in the industry right now.

Where  do you see yourself in 5 years and what’s your game plan to get there currently ?

In a perfect world, we’d love to be regularly traveling to different states and cities, sharing a custom audio/visual experience with a heavy focus on storytelling. Our dream label right now is Monstercat, so we’d love to be sharing stages with their roster of amazing artists – but to be honest, we just want the opportunity to share our creative visions and connect with everyone who’s helping us get there. We have sooo much music we’re working on releasing right now, including collabs with some artists we’ve been fans of since highschool. We’re also focusing super heavy on our creative visual representation so that listeners can find themselves exploring our artistic worlds through more than just the music itself.

Canabliss Makes Her WAKAAN Debut via “PLASMA EP”

Canabliss Makes Her WAKAAN Debut via “PLASMA EP”

If there is one thing we enjoy more than the absolute range of frequencies that free form bass has to offer, it’ll have to be the discovery and upbringing of new artists into the spotlight.  Liquid Stranger founded label , WAKAAN , is one of the bass scenes leaders when it comes to showing who is currently in trend and is deserving of such a feature. Toronto-based artist , Canabliss , is here to showcase why she has already found an audience within the community thanks to her high ernergy yet heavy 4 track EP titled ‘PLASMA’. We have been given the opportunity to premiere our personal favorite off the project , “Safety Island” , a track that revolves itself around an auditory expierence based off dark yet eccentric atmospheres. Let’s take a further dive as to what makes this track what we like to consider, a certified bop.

“Electricity is everywhere, even in our own brains. Currents is about forming connections spiritually and physically in life. In this EP ‘Plasma’ I explored new sound design with tons of heavy bass and dark atmospheres to help express some of the more difficult times we experienced these past couple years. In Canada we’ve still been pretty much locked down without any live music available, so writing music has been my primary outlet.”

What’s one artist you’re grateful for that has inspired you to be where you are today and why?

I would say that all the amazing underground artists inspire me the most.
There’s so much spectacular music out there that deserves more recognition! My favourite way to get inspired is by searching through Soundcloud and finding mostly unheard gems that consist of so many innovative sounds. If I had to choose one artist I would say Ivy lab has always made a huge impression on me. They’re one of the first bass artists I had the pleasure of seeing live at a festival in Croatia 5 years ago and ever since then i’ve been blown away by the unique sounds they create.

Where  do you see yourself in 5 years and what’s your game plan to get there currently ?

In 5 years I wish for my project to make a huge impact in the industry. Ive always wished to inspire others to follow their dreams and work hard to get there. I want my music to explore different areas and help bring them together. I aspire to mix prettier sounds with super dark techniques to make a unique type of bass music. I want for my visuals and music to come together to make a special experience for my listeners that automatically speaks “Canabliss”. The game plan is to work hard and keep grinding and one upping myself and creating new goals constantly!

Wolf-e-Wolf Rewires Reality w/ “Deprogram” via MorFlo Records

Wolf-e-Wolf Rewires Reality w/ “Deprogram” via MorFlo Records

It’s time for Arkansas to stand tall and proud , as they are being absolutely blasted on the map due to the efforts of one individual who just doesn’t appear to miss. Nick Wolfe , better known as Wolf-e-Wolf, is here to deliver a three track auditory experience titled “Dream System” via our friends over at MorFlo Records. If there is one man we can trust that never fails to bring the madness within the free form genre , Wolf-e-Wolf definitely takes the cake for this one and for good reason as well. If you’re in search of letting your mind roam free through the fabrics of heavy textured basslines and uplifting atmospheric melodies, we can assure you will not leave disappointed. It’s time to dive deep as to what makes today’s premiere of “Deprogram” off the EP , what we like to call a certified bop.

“I’ve been following Morflo’s journey for quite some time. I love how they push forward the melodic side of the bass music that’s often slept on by other labels and collectives. My team and I had been brainstorming the perfect label for this special EP and when Morflo was brought up, we instantly knew they were the right fit. All my interactions with their crew have always been very welcoming and positive. Feels like a group of like-minded people and I’m so stoked to join forces with them to share my next release with the world.”

What’s one artist you’re grateful for that has inspired you to be where you are today and why?
As cliche as it might sound, it really is hard to narrow it down to just one. I’ve been honored to have some really prolific artists support my project. One stand out human has to be my boy Dirt Monkey. He came along during a really tough time in my career and offered me the opportunity to be the first release on his new label 19K. Soon after that he invited me to join him on his Primatology tour and I really got to experience my first national tour. He made sure to include me with all the perks a headliner might receive and I am forever grateful for the respect and inclusivity he showed me. All that aside, dude is a straight up machine when it comes to writing tunes. I am constantly in awe of his work ethic and how many unreleased tracks he is sitting on at any given moment. Big shoutout to Patrick, love ya my dude.
Where  do you see yourself in 5 years and what’s your game plan to get there currently ?
I like to imagine myself on a national headline tour featuring a full AV experience. I create most of my own graphic and visual content and it would be a dream to work with a team to fully curate the experience down to all the minute details. I’d also strive to bring along a handpicked group of artists that I believe in, that maybe haven’t received the recognition they deserve. Great music doesn’t always equate career success or tours. I’d love to do my part giving back to the next wave in the scene and putting eyes on some of these undiscovered gems out there. For my game-plan to make this happen – I’m hustling super hard this year to release more music than ever, branch out to new labels, and collab with lots of new artists that are pushing boundaries. Full grind mode in effect. I’m on “x-games mode”.
Sonorous & BASSFACE Disrupt The Balance w/ “Broken Simulation”

Sonorous & BASSFACE Disrupt The Balance w/ “Broken Simulation”

We are back once again to further bring the hottest upcoming bass talents to the fore front of today’s electronic scene. On the rise are two individuals that are looking to bring a disruption to the on going frequency balance that hold fabric of this reality together. It’s safe to say they did just that with today’s premiere of “Broken Simulation” , a song that focuses heavy on deep basslines while having the hair lifting atmosphere that simulates traveling through time itself. Now it’s time to take a further dive as to what makes this release what we like to call , a certified bop.

“Do we live in a simulation? Maybe. But if so then it’s clearly malfunctioning…
Through sound is one of the few ways we know how to forget about this broken simulation, even if it is just for a moment. We truly hope this record will allow you to do just that. Immerse yourself in the sound and for that moment, simply exist.”

DIVING DEEP W/ SONOROUS & BASSFACE

1. What kind of impact do you wish to have on the scene 1-2 years from now with your project?

SONOROUS: The impact that I wish to have on the scene in 1-2 years is to just bring more people together with my music and to create a feeling of cohesion or social connectedness. I also hope to inspire other underground female artists to be more confident in their project and or inspire others to explore deeper into the realm of bass music.

BASSFACE: I aim to make positive changes in the scene that are talked about my many, but acted upon by few. Inclusivity and giving power back to the artist is the goal. Always striving to find the hidden talent that’s been overlooked for too long.

2. If you could go back in time and start over given what you have learned in your career so far, what changes and approach would have done differently?

SONOROUS: I think that I would go back and tell myself to have more trust and faith in myself. When starting my project, I was hesitant on whether or not this was right for me and I would always worry about what others thought of my music. With such a daring and vulnerable career path it’s important to have the utmost faith in yourself and your project.

BASSFACE: I actually say this quite frequently. If there’s one thing I would do differently in my career writing music, it would simply be to have started sooner.

DIVING DEEP W/ SUPER FUTURE

Q1: Who/what are the biggest inspirations in the music you create today?

My biggest inspirations today are the artists that know how to take listeners on a full adventure through bass and downtempo and everything in between. Those are the people that truly give me the range I want to hear to be fully emotionally engaged in music. Bonus points if they are actively doing more than touring to make the scene thrive on an inclusive and uplifting level. Of course at a minimum they better be wildly original and pushing boundaries of sound! That list of people includes artists like LSDREAM, CloZee, Liquid Stranger, G Jones, Minnesota, Troyboi, Tidye Ky, OTT, Wreckno. If you are curious about up and comers who I’m obsessed with at all… I’d say Mindset, Notlo, Molokai, Tripp St, Smoakland… man I’m probably forgetting tons but if I f*ck with you I’ve already let you know haha.

Q2: What would you tell your younger self today knowing where you’re at now and what it took to get there?

Things I’d tell my younger self today is honestly exactly what I teach students in Producer Dojo… all the mistakes I’ve made that are turned around into tactful positives. The main thing I’d really want myself to know is not to be afraid to express the soulful and emotional music that was buried deep down because I didn’t think it would land with the masses. Hype and bassy music does pack rooms, but the most real love I’ve ever received from a fan or friend has consistently been because of my downtempo and emotional music. The stuff I’ve released with Sskwan and otherwise is saving people’s lives. That is a direct quote from various listeners. Nothing can matter more than helping other people through art and whatever talents you possess. Younger me and younger artists… don’t be afraid to share your REAL emotional side. People are ready and waiting
