Completely with a hefty EP full of bangers, freeform bass producer, Zeke Beats, is officially making his hugely anticipated debut with one of the forerunning electronic record labels in today’s scene. With this 4 track compilation of some incredible heavy hitting, trend setting tunes, Zeke Beats has broken out of his comfort zone to bring us something that is anything but typical dance music. Vigil, the title track off the EP that we have the pleasure of premiering today, creates a completely mind warping arrangement, featuring bold glitchy basslines and, of course, his famous scratching. What is your biggest inspiration to this day that has helped shape your style of music and why?

“Back in my earlier days when I started music production I was an avid listener of the ‘Low End Theory’ podcasts and also their events they used to hold at the Airliner in LA. They were all about pushing the boundaries of creativity and primarily would showcase smaller underground artists who were extremely talented. As you can tell from my music I am all about being experimental and not allowing expected constructs to limit my creativity.”

If there was one thing you could change for the betterment of society, what would it be and why?

” free healthcare for everybody”

Creating absolute bone crushing drops and heavy sound is something that does not come easily to all producers in the freeform bass scene today. This however is not the case for Mike Sarron, better known to many as hard hitter SpaceYeti. Bringing forth his latest EP, Biotech, this artist has caught the attention of the masses with his unique and downright dirty sound. “Mechanical”, which we have the pleasure of premiering off this 5 track compilation, is nothing short of a high energy mainstage festival track. With it’s bumping basslines and earth shattering drops, this track will have you headbanging as hard as you can from start to finish. 1. If there was one thing you could change in the bass scene, what would it be and why?

“I think I’d like more people to realize and appreciate how diverse bass music can be, and not limit themselves.”

 2. If you could go back in time and start over given what you have learned in your career so far, what changes and approach would you have done differently?

“If I could start over I definitely would have spent less time stressing about the technical side of producing and spent more time pushing myself creatively, trying to be more innovative. Too often I found myself stuck focusing on mixing/mastering over creating tracks with more soul and interesting ideas or concepts.”

The Icon Collective seems to be giving birth to many multi-genre based artists within the music scene recently that have been causing waves for all of 2022. One of these particular artists has been on our radar for quite some time now. Joseph Yuen , an LA-based electronic producer better known as L’Homie , is back once more to solidify his place amongst the heavy hitters as one to look out for. Today we have the pleasure of premiering our personal favorite off his new 4 track EP titled , EARLY HOURS , which drops in it’s entirety today via our good friends over at Street Ritual.  Having found success with his last two EP’s , we’re sure this one is nothing short of brilliance like his previous work. In today’s electronic bass scene, breaking out of the mold and showcasing new and unique sounds can be a daunting task for even the most talented of producers. Canada based producer, smol, is back again, tackling this difficult task with ease as he brings forth his latest track “So High”, featured on Wavecraft Collective’s latest compilation , Resurgence Vol. 1. This comp focuses on playing on dark and heavy textures that are seen in all 7 tracks from artists such as leet, MLOTIK, JamL and others. smol combines an aggressive but unique rhythm to fuel this track’s drops, creating full length hybrid house tune with an exciting yet heavy soundscape that is not to be missed. 1. What is your biggest inspiration to this day that has helped shape your style of music and why?

I was asked to write a twelve minute long custom piece of music to enhance a storyline drawn up by Cirque De La Nuit to be performed live through flow art and dance for TEDx Talks in Calgary. The idea was that multiple points of inspiration could be fused together to create a powerful and unique hybrid idea in the end. If you’ve listened to a few of my tunes spanning different genres you’ll know I tend to fluidly move my listeners through a dynamic storyline as my songs progress. I tend to bend genre boundaries pretty hard, this approach was all birthed from this opportunity.

2. What has been a personal career struggle that you have battled with the most and how has it helped mold your character for the better good presently?

The biggest career struggle I’ve dealt with is living and writing music in Canada with over 90% of my fan base calling the USA home. Building genuine connections and fostering lasting friendships mainly online has really shown me the beautiful side of social media. I do publish a lot of content on it, but I generally use it for communicating with friends & fans, organizing my music or label project and straight up learning how to do different things better whether that be food, music or mindfulness. I definitely can’t wait to break into the American market in person this fall/winter and meet some of the wonderful friends I’ve made over the past couple of years!
