NTICE Goes Off w/ His Own Spin Of Nazaar’s ‘War Cry’ Ft. Virus Syndicate

Here at Headbang Society, we love seeing new fire remixes of our favorite tunes from new and upcoming artists. Texas bass producer, NTICE has come out swinging with a new, exciting rendition of NAZAAR’s track “War Cry” that has been rinsed out continuously since its release. Continuing the heavy uptempo energy from the original track, NTICE puts a playful spin on the drop, focusing on stepping out of his usual comfort zone and bringing an absolutely bass heavy take on the original tune. This remix showcases the perfect combination of the original song we have all come to love with a unique twist that is not to be missed. Let’s take a deeper dive into why we are calling NTICE’s remix of “War Cry”, a certified bop.

“The composition of this remix allowed me to focus on redesigning my
sound and applying new techniques I’ve learned. Already remixing a very
well-polished track, “WAR CRY,” I had to step out of my comfort zone and
bring something new to the table.”

DIVING DEEP W/ NTICE

1. What is your biggest inspiration to this day that has helped shape your style of music and why?
My biggest inspiration would have to be TRVCY, NVADRZ, and W IN K. Producers like these are pushing boundaries like no other, not being
defined by sound design but by amazing mixdowns and solid composition. While standing out in my lane, I have shaped my style towards something like “Hybrid Trap” and bass influence. I’m straying away from the standard and pushing new horizons where I fit and can grow as a music producer.
2. If you could go back in time and start over given what you have learned in your career so far, what changes and approach would you have done differently?
If I could go back in time and tell myself what I know now, those words would be, “Focus on your music, allow yourself to grow as a musician, and
don’t worry about what others may think.” Allowing myself to hear this information would’ve changed the path I went on for about a year. I was stuck trying to make the craziest sounds, having the hardest-hitting snare,
and trying to be heard, but in reality, I had forgotten my roots, and my creative direction wasn’t clear anymore. Now that I know where I want to take my music, there is no stopping what is coming.

“The track in Collaboration with My friend Macrohard has a blend between the melodic, psychedelic and dissonant, coupled with hip hop and dub elements.”

DIVING DEEP W/ FATHER OF CHROME & MARCOHARD

If you could go back in time and start over given what you have learned in your career so far, what changes and approach would you have done differently?

FATHER OF CHROME: If I could go back in time, I would try to start performing earlier in my career. I really enjoy performing now, but it took a long time to start to feel confident and truly enjoy myself and in turn have people enjoy themselves during my set. If I had the confidence to go out and seek more opportunities earlier on, I think it would have accumulated into an even better live aspect to my music today.

MACRHOHARD: Honestly, I have no sepcific regrets in the method and routes I took to become the musician I am today, but I certainly would have gotten here sooner and with more grace if it weren’t for some of my overthinking or shameful and toxic mindsets.

In my naive youth I may have compared myself with my peers with jealousy or self doubt, or be hesitant to approch someone due to my inadequate social meida numbers, or look down on certain genres or trends, or not care too much about mixing/mastering thinking that is only for engineers.. etc.

So in short, I would like to have realized the importance of being humble, openminded, respectful, resourceful, studius, and sincere for the reverence of making refined music sooner.

2Who/what are the biggest inspirations in the music you create today

MACROHARD: In general, I get musical inspirations from anything and everything around me (sounds of birds chirping, an anime BGM, car sirens, old K-pop at a karaoke, tiktok videos, etc..) but as for the great musicians that have left a mark on my soul, it would be: DJ Premier, Notorious B.I.G., DJ Shadow, Brodinski, Pretty Lights, Eric Prydz, Flying Lotus, and Sphongle, to name a few.

FATHER OF CHROME:

I have always had my top 3:

#1 Daedelus, an amazing LA based performer. I originally saw him when I was going to school in San Fran, he did a free show at the apple store. best known for his monome performances he is an amazing artist, and now at this point in my life i have met him and even had the pleasure of giving him some of my artwork.

#2 The Widdler, a godfather in deep dark dubstep. I have been listening to him since I first switched from making music no one will ever hear in Garageband, to a major leap in my production career with Reason. Just excellent, really deep innovative sound design that no one could match. Now he is really seeing the fruits of his labor and garnishing the recognition that he deserves. I had the pleasure of meeting him and even having releases on Sum R&R which has also hosted some of his releases. Big goal of mine is to one day have something under one of his WiddFam releases.

#3 Crystal Castles, Beautiful melodies coupled with distorted punk vocals and Alice Glass star power. I can only describe crystal castles as chilling techno punk for the dystopian future. I really wanted to achieve the ability to make something heavy yet melodic, catchy but truly unique. Crystal Castles captured this in their music and as true innovators have been doing it for almost 20 years. Despite recent developments in the bands history between the 2 members, their first album will forever be a major influence on me and one of my personal favorites. I will forever be an Alice Glass fan, Crystal Castles or her new solo project.

  1. If there was one thing you could change in the bass scene, what would it be and why?

I love the bass scene. I wish it wasn’t confusing for some people on the outside looking in.

  1. Where do you see yourself in 5 years and what’s your game plan to get there currently?

I see myself still making music in 5 years. For me to be successful, I will need to make each song better than the last and don’t rush the process.

Luminyst Ascends To A Higher Level w/ ‘THE MACHINE’

Luminyst Ascends To A Higher Level w/ ‘THE MACHINE’

If there’s one individual who never fails to disappoint with each release , you better believe LUMINYST will be on that list. You don’t have to take our word for it , the production quality and intense up beat blend of basslines speaks for itself with each project. Today we have the honor of premiering a new single from the mad scientist himself titled ‘The Machine’ , a release that is part of his forthcoming SHINE LP that will later be released later in the year in it’s entirety. If you’re looking to get more previews of the album , don’t worry we got you covered as well. Next sneak peak will be out on September 6th, a collboration with BroMosapien that is bound to knock you off your feet. Now it’s time to take a deeper dive as to why this premiere is what we like to call , a certified bop.

“A live FLUX set favorite, this long-awaited song began with a massive, multi-day sound design session that emerged from my work in an online class by Ben Cantil over a year ago. Invoking classic sci-fi mad scientist tropes complete with corny voice work by yours truly, the story of the song is inspired by my real-life experience of building the FLUX audio/visual performance system from scratch. The journey involved months of trial and error, a room filled to the brim with computer parts and cables, countless hours of software troubleshooting, network building and even a little bit of code writing. By the end of it, I felt a little mad myself- but alas, my creation… IS COMPLETED!!”

1.What has been your biggest inspiration to this day that has helped shape your style of music and why?
It’s hard to narrow down one best inspiration but I draw a lot from artists who are heavily visual-oriented, and those who focus on maximum immersion for their live show experiences.
Some good examples of this right now are artists like Rezz, ODESZA, Levitate, Excision, etc.
2.What has a been a personal career struggle that you have battled with the most that has helped mold your character for the better good presently?
Perfectionism. It’s still very much a daily struggle, but I’d like to believe I’m slowly learning how to accept imperfection for the sake of moving forward. Good art is all about creative flow and you can’t access that state of mind if you’re constantly stopping to hyper-focus on every little tiny detail… at least that’s the case for me. It’s a constant battle because I want to put out the absolute best quality content I can but I’m also super self
Mad-Lab Disrupts the System w/ New “Crucible” EP

Mad-Lab Disrupts the System w/ New “Crucible” EP

In the electronic bass scene today, there is a steady influx of new and exciting music that can be experienced each and every day. Breaking through the mold as an artist and becoming a forefront producer in the world of ever flowing tunes, is none other than producer duo Mad-Lab, who are bringing forth their highly anticipated Crucible EP today. Focused on creating a heavy futuristic bass sound, these two have whipped up a stellar 4 track EP that will blow your mind. “King Walk”, the second tune off this compilation, wreaks absolute havoc with its bouncy bassline and snappy percussion to embody the confidence that any king should have. Both this track and the EP, are a do not miss and we definitely hope to be hearing it played out all over in the very near future. Let’s take a deeper dive into why we are calling “King Walk” and the rest of the Crucible EP, a certified bop.

“Crucible”- defined as a “ceramic or metal container in which metals or other substances may be melted into at very high temperatures.” The fusion reaction at hand was created by combining heavy, futuristic bass sounds with pumped up Dilla rhythms to create a fresh and distinctive style that screams 2022 to infinity

DIVING DEEP W/ MAD-LAB

1.Where do you see yourself in 5 years and what’s your game plan to get there currently?

In 5 years, I see MAD-LAB touring and playing the biggest festivals, no doubt in my mind. Game plan is to keep getting big releases on Labels such as Deadbeats and Circus records and build a strong community of friends and fans here in the local Denver scene that would build to something bigger.

  1. If there was an artist you had the chance to collaborate with, who would it be and why?

Right now Ivy Lab, Jon Casey or Of The Trees would be ideal to make collabs with, Jon Casey is on the rise and his sound and Flow are super unique, Ivy Lab has been killing the game for a long time and i take a lot of my style and bassline ideas from listening to them over the last few years. Of The Trees has always been a favorite and the way he brings you into a track by putting you in a place and setting has always been mind blowing to me as well as  his melody ideas.
