“Made this song to go back to the roots of what I fell in love with when I heard dubstep for the first time” -SWAMPZ

DIVING DEEP W/ SWAMPZ

If you could choose one word to describe this track, what would it be?

The word I’d use to describe this track is “OG” the name of the song itself because it encapsulates the vibes of the “og” or “oldschool” dubstep and hip hop that I grew up listening to.

What are some hip-hop artists you look to for inspiration during the production of your tracks?

I’ve been listening to hip hop music my whole life so I have a wide range of inspirations from the modern day to the old school. If I had to choose my biggest influences it’d be Suicideboys, Cypress Hill, Wu-Tang Clan, Xavier Wulf, Bones, NWA, Mobb Deep, Chief Keef and so many more, I could go on forever. I incorporate a lot of elements used in old school and modern day hip hop into my production so listening to these artists may spark the creative boost I need when writing music.

2023 was a huge year for you, with that being said, what are some of your goals for the Swampz project in 2024?

2023 was huge for me and I am extremely grateful for that. My goal for 2024 is to make it a bigger year, release tons of new music, play lots of shows and influence other producers to hop on the G-Step wave that I’m pushing. Really just looking to build on the seeds I planted last year and I’m excited to have a new team at Mind Warp to bring that vision to life!
