Many artists are looking to pave their way through the ever changing electronic bass scene, hoping to make their mark with new and exciting sounds. Denver based producer, Spades, has come out swinging to do exactly this with the release of his latest EP, Zerotonin. Combining heavy basslines with an incredible high energy sound, this four track EP packs a punch with each and every track. The title track off this EP, that we have the pleasure of premiering for you today, will definitely get you up on your feet, bring some serious wubby drops and a hard hitting beat that is not to be missed. We definitely are going to be bumping this one for the foreseeable future. Let’s take a deeper dive into why we are calling the entire Zerotonin EP, a certified bop.

“Like my last EP, each song is a combination of two different songs I started at different times that I combined into one song to make a whole piece of music.  Sometimes writing music can drain a lot from you mentally; it takes so much out of you to put your mind and art into a DAW and that’s where Zerotonin comes from. That feeling where you think you’ve reached your limit, but you just keep working through it.”

DIVING DEEP W/ SPADES

  1. What has been one of the most memorable career achievements so far as an artist and how did that impact you moving forward?

I don’t look at achievements to keep pushing me forward. Music is something I need to constantly create. It’s my therapy. It’s my outlet to keep going to push my mind to see what else I can create and it’s a physical marker of how I’ve grown as a person.

  1. What kind of impact do you wish to have on the scene 1-2 years from now with your project?

I really hope to push producers to collaborate with each other more, be confident with what comes to mind, and think outside the box and not be afraid to take risks. Music has the power to emotionally, culturally, and morally influence our society. The more intentional and true to ourselves we become with what we create, the more we can create deep and meaningful impacts in the scene, as well as the world around us.
