Finding music that makes us feel in sync and connected to the world around us is crucial to the human experience. Artist Nowfeel continues to bring forth new music that does just this: heightens our emotions and allows us to be introspective of all that is going on in life. His newest LP, kin, combines multiple genres to bring an intimate deep listening experience that is not to be missed. Each of these 7 tracks put listeners into a whole new soundscape as they are taken on the journey that is kin. Our premiere today, “all around you” is a UK garage inspired track that is at the epicenter of this deep listening experience. It’s ambient sound plays perfectly into all that  kin is: “a love letter to electronic music, nature, and the human spirit”. Let’s a take a deeper dive into why we are calling “all around you” and the rest of the kin LP, a certified bop.

” kin was primarily written during the beginning of the pandemic and the song’s themes, reflect the immense amount of change I was going through at the time. Whenever I sit down to make music, I have no idea what’s going to happen. When I’m at my best, once there’s a single element that excites me, I just continue to pull at that thread from a place of intuition. I never really know what a piece is about or where it’s headed. I do my best to continue moving the sound in a direction that keeps me feeling inspired and when it’s complete, the song can take on a completely new meaning for me.  My favourite music allows room for the listener to interpret the piece of music however best suits them and I try my hardest to allow that same space in the music I write. ‘kin’ is also a love letter to the electronic music I love and I wove many of my inspirations into the LP.”

  1. What’s one cool fact about yourself/or your project that not many fans know about?

I had my musical start as a drummer, playing in prog metal and funk bands and there are live drums of mine littered all over the album from a handful of old and current recording sessions. I also recently purchased a Roland TD-17 electronic drum kit and will be performing out live with it.

  1. If there was one thing you could change for the betterment of society, what would it be and why?

That’s a really hard question….I will go with some sort of global crop-dusting of a magical powder that increases the human population’s level of empathy by at least 75 % 😉
