If there’s one individual who never fails to disappoint with each release , you better believe LUMINYST will be on that list. You don’t have to take our word for it , the production quality and intense up beat blend of basslines speaks for itself with each project. Today we have the honor of premiering a new single from the mad scientist himself titled ‘The Machine’ , a release that is part of his forthcoming SHINE LP that will later be released later in the year in it’s entirety. If you’re looking to get more previews of the album , don’t worry we got you covered as well. Next sneak peak will be out on September 6th, a collboration with BroMosapien that is bound to knock you off your feet. Now it’s time to take a deeper dive as to why this premiere is what we like to call , a certified bop.

“A live FLUX set favorite, this long-awaited song began with a massive, multi-day sound design session that emerged from my work in an online class by Ben Cantil over a year ago. Invoking classic sci-fi mad scientist tropes complete with corny voice work by yours truly, the story of the song is inspired by my real-life experience of building the FLUX audio/visual performance system from scratch. The journey involved months of trial and error, a room filled to the brim with computer parts and cables, countless hours of software troubleshooting, network building and even a little bit of code writing. By the end of it, I felt a little mad myself- but alas, my creation… IS COMPLETED!!”

1.What has been your biggest inspiration to this day that has helped shape your style of music and why?
It’s hard to narrow down one best inspiration but I draw a lot from artists who are heavily visual-oriented, and those who focus on maximum immersion for their live show experiences.
Some good examples of this right now are artists like Rezz, ODESZA, Levitate, Excision, etc.
2.What has a been a personal career struggle that you have battled with the most that has helped mold your character for the better good presently?
Perfectionism. It’s still very much a daily struggle, but I’d like to believe I’m slowly learning how to accept imperfection for the sake of moving forward. Good art is all about creative flow and you can’t access that state of mind if you’re constantly stopping to hyper-focus on every little tiny detail… at least that’s the case for me. It’s a constant battle because I want to put out the absolute best quality content I can but I’m also super self
