What better way to start the new 2024 year off than with a massive collab from two rising bass talents that are bound to bring the heat with every release they do. Today we get blessed with their newest track titled “DROP THIS”. This project is a ‘combination of styles featuring weird, low-end elements and high energy basslines’ that is well suited for folks who are looking to get caught off guard by its madness. You might as well get it out of your system now and have this bad boi on repeat as it’s surely to be a heavy favorite when attending various festival sets. Now it’s time to take a deeper as to what makes this song what we like to call, a certified bop.
“CHOZEN and JOJO joined forces to create a unique, bass heavy, track that is sure to be a crowd pleaser. A combination of styles featuring weird, low-end elements and high energy basslines, the first collaboration from these two artists will keep you moving throughout.”
You’re on your deathbed and you can listen to one last song, which one would it be?
- CHOZEN:
- It has to be Collapse by Zeds Dead. This is the song that truly got me into EDM almost a decade ago. Then I heard the Tape B Remix and I couldn’t believe a better version had been created. The song itself is high energy but makes you feel emotional at the same time.
- JOJO
- Head splitter – Getter, because this was the song that made me fall in love with EDM in the first place. I remember going to my first festival and hearing it drop at the bass stage and I couldn’t contain myself and rushed towards the front and went completely nuts.
If you could change one thing about the electronic scene, what would it be and why?
- CHOZEN:
- If I could change one thing about the industry it would probably be the competitiveness and how some artists treat each other. This isn’t always the case but I feel like we are seeing more of it. For me, the scene is about bringing good vibes to a community of amazing people. We could all accomplish so much more if we lift each other up and support one another.
- JOJO
- if I could change one thing about the scene, I would make it less of a popularity contest and make more opportunities for everyone including smaller artists, there are so many artists out there who just don’t get the exposure they deserve.
With the wisdom you’ve gathered, what nugget of advice would you pass down to a younger Chozen, say 6-8 years ago?
- CHOZEN:
- My biggest piece of advice would be to just work hard and have fun with it. Way too many people get caught up in the uglier side of the industry that they forget to just enjoy it! I try hard to get back to that at times when I’m feeling stressed.
- Jojo
- focus on your art and the rest will follow, don’t rush yourself, and just remember the journey is the destination
