Whether you are looking for heavy hitting wubz, weird and wonky vibes or just a deep rolling bassline, finding an EP that has all of these things can be a difficult task. This, however, is not true for Australian native producer, Chamberlain, who has compiled all of these incredible sounds and moods into one insane EP. Astana packs a punch with its never fleeting high energy sound, providing both flairs of the wubby and the gangsta with his hip hop influences that can be seen throughout these 5 tracks. Our premiere today, “Cash’ hits hard with down right nasty rhythm loops and catchy vocals that leave listeners wanting more. This entire EP as well as our featured track is a bass journey that is not one you should be sleeping on! “Astana is my latest EP, it’s a play on words from the word ‘Istana’ which means a royal palace in Malay, which is part of my heritage. Alongside my Bass themes, I try to evoke a sense of grandiosity, running inline with my stage name ‘Chamberlain’. Cash was a tune i wrote about not giving a fuck. I wanted to bring some full aggression with a gangsta feel. the lyrics ‘that’s how i do it’ to imply a confident, doubling down, self assured ‘bite me’ vibe.”

  1. What would you tell your younger self today knowing where you’re at now and what it took to get there?

 

If I could speak to my younger self I’d let him know, don’t worry, just trust yourself even more. The point where I started to receive recognition for my own music was the point when I gave up writing for anyone else apart from myself. I actually completely gave up writing and started slowly getting back into it and that’s when I began to slowly turn heads. For anyone out there and my younger self, be an artist not to be heard, but because you have something to say.

Oh gosh, I’m a mega fanboy but Opiuo, the man is an absolute relentless trendsetting weapon.
