In today’s world of electronic music, artists are constantly banding together to combine their forces and talent to bring forth new and exciting bass music for all to enjoy. Today, two of the hottest name in up-and-coming bass artists, BroMosapien and GRGLY, have teamed up to bring some absolute heat to our Wednesday with their latest track, “Elephant Warfare”. Playing on the absolute power of the elephant, this track curates a powerful punch with its blasting basslines that charge the whole tune with an infectious energy that fans have come to love from both of these heavy hitters. With plans to collaborate in the future there definitely is a lot more heat in store for fans in the future from both of the bass wizards! 1. “Elephant Warfare” is the first collaboration between both of you, what inspirations did you both have for this track? Was it easy getting into a writing flow together?

“With this track being our first collab, we both wanted to bring our sounds to the table & turn things up to 11. I come from the heavier side of the spectrum, while Alex comes from more of a glitch hop background. I feel we both blended our styles pretty seamlessly with this tune & in a couple of studio sessions, the song pretty much wrote itself. Nothing better than those kinds of studio sessions with good homies!” -BroMosapien
“Honestly, I didn’t have any inspiration going into writing my bit, kinda wanted to try something new I hadn’t heard before and I think that translated well in the flow. Was hard for me to get into a writing flow for sure but sent it to Andy and he took it to the next level” -GRGLY
2. Writing music can be a difficult task on its own let alone when multiple people are involved. Did you two face any challenges when writing this track together? If so, how did you overcome those obstacles?
“Honestly, writing this track with Alex was pretty simple & just felt right. Alex sent me over a pretty dope idea, & then my ADHD studio sessions took it to the next level & flipped it on its head & some. We were able to knock this one out in a couple of sessions, so everything just lined up right!” -BroMosapien
“My challenge was that I had like 4-8 bars and had no idea what to do with it, sent to Andy and he smashed it out the park. Took a concept and made it concrete for sure.” -GRGLY

3. What does this track mean to each of you individually? What do you hope listeners take from it?

“This tune is our first ever collaboration so that in itself is special. Alex is like a little brother to me & I absolutely love the dude. I hope listeners can feel how genuine a place this tune comes from & can tell how much we fine tuned each individual element. Easily one of my favorite songs I’ve ever released!” -BroMosapien
“This track definitely means a good bit to me, Andy was a huge inspiration when I was first starting my project and it’s super sick getting to work with him on the artist side of things like that. Also getting to work with one of your best friends is always a bonus. Was super cool to mesh our styles together and see they came out so well!” -GRGLY

4. What is next for both of your projects? Do you have anything up and coming that fans can look forward to?

“LOTS of cool things are coming up for the end of the year into 2024. Loads of show announcements that I can’t speak on just yet, but just know we are ramping up the touring schedule for the BroMosapien project for the last half of the year. Also LOADS of new music is on the way. Have several EPs I am releasing throughout the rest of the year. Keep an eye out for those projects because they are easily my biggest to date!” -BroMosapien

Located on an exclusive plot of land in Jaceland, TN, Sound Haven continues to catch the eye of festival goers all over as they continue into their 5th year from July 20th-23rd. Dynamic duo and heavy-hitting bass artists, Dissolv, have made their way back into the spotlight with their highly anticipated new track ‘Running Deep” which showcases a different and heavier side of the project that listeners have yet to experience thus far. Continuing their legacy with our friends over at Gravitas Records, we have the esteemed pleasure of premiering this new look into the DIssolv project, which has breathed a breath of fresh air onto the bass scene as a whole. Featuring unique bouncy synths alongside heavy trappy and bass beats, “Running Deep” captures the perfect melodic sound many have come to love from this artist with a new and infectious twist. There is no doubt that this tune will get any dancefloor up and moving from the very first measure. We will definitely be blasting this one out for the foreseeable future! “Running Deep showcases a heavier and saucy side of Dissolv, bringing out new levels of conscious bass. The track “runs it” with melodic trap featuring haunting vocals and heavy bass. 1. When writing Running Deep, what inspirations of elements did you combine into making this heater of a track?

When writing Running Deep we were inspired to blend a deep nostalgic vocal melody with running hybrid trap drops to bring together the two faces of Dissolv and both brotherly sides. As brothers, we both have different backgrounds in music, Val coming from a more melodic, psybass and deep dubstep influence and Andre representing a more hyphy, trap and bass background. We also went with a more classic dubstep drum beat which opened up a lot of space for some hefty wobbles and sound design.

2. This is a heavier track than we have seen from your project in the past. Is this the new sound that we can expect from Dissolv or is this just another side to this incredible multifaceted project? 

We have been wanting to showcase a heavier side of Dissolv in our production that we have been foreshadowing in our recent live sets.  Dissolv will always maintain a multifaceted musical journey through our production, but this is the start to a new chapter of releases for high-energy, heavier bass music. That being said, we strive to continue to bridge the gap between live instrumental and conscious world bass with underground west coast bass culture. We are excited to share this other side of our project with you all!

3. Where do you see yourself and your project in the next 5 years? What are you currently doing to achieve this? 

In the next 5 years we will have evolved our live experience to dissolve the walls between studio production and live performance. Pushing culture that offers party and release in tandem with connection and consciousness. Touring full-time and carrying the torch for the movement that is steadily forming will continue to support and lift the community that we’ve grown with. We all have to keep running it and running deep. As artists, we all have roadblocks that happen in life making it hard to focus on music or be creative. It’s all about recognizing that this will happen and giving it our all, while finding balance and slowing down to enjoy the journey and where we are at. It’s just a matter of time before hard work pays off, and realizing what the why is and never losing sight!

4. What is up next for the Dissolv project? What are you planning for the near future that fans have to look forward to?

We are planning to have a full length album ready for release by the end of the year showcasing our new sound and featuring collaborations with some amazing artists in our community that are on a similar path. There is an exciting announcement coming soon in regards to a new agency who we are working with to create our biggest tour yet with this release! Created by EDM visionaries, Benjamin “Bamby” Bayeul & Charlie “Erwan” Dodson, better known to many as the esteemed bass duo Ganja White Night, Subcarbon Records has become a powerhouse of electronic music. With previous releases from artists such as Subtronics, Dirt Monkey, Rusko, and more, the amount of heat that is constantly cycling through Subcarbon is unreal, featuring not only larger names but putting listeners on to new and exciting bass projects as well. One of these rising stars is none other than Italian bass wizard, Eater, who has just released a stacked 4-track EP of straight heater with Subcarbon Records.

The Invader EP starts off heavy with the title track “Invader”. This track easily captivates listeners and sets the tone for the high-energy punch the entirety of the EP packs. With its vibey synths and overall gravity-defying sound, “Invader”, creates the perfect sense of anticipation for all that is to come from the EP.

Next up, “Annihilation” fascinates with its vocal edits and dark aura, taking listeners on a social journey through sound. “Trial quickly follows behind bringing edgy basslines and gritty depths that we have not previously heard from Eater thus far.

Ganja White Night

1. Having your own record label is a massive feat within the EDM scene. What made you want to start Subcarbon Records originally?

I want to say it was because we had big ambitions and wanted to make it become a huge label within the dubstep world. But let’s be honest, the reason why we originally started Subcarbon Records was because we couldn’t find the right place for Ganja White Night’s music to be released on. So we decided to say f*ck it, let’s do it ourselves and get this music out. We knew we’d struggle to hit an established network, and it wouldn’t especially help the original push when releasing new music, but at least it will be out and available for the people.

2. There must be hundreds and hundreds of artists submitting new and exciting tunes to Subcarbon Records every day. What is your selection process for the record label due to this influx? Are you both heavily involved with the release selection?

I wouldn’t say hundreds and hundreds every day, but we receive a good hundred a month. The process is always the same. First, even before reading the email, listen to the tunes. If that’s good, then we read the email. I want people to know that no matter how good you (or ChatGPT) might be with the writing of your pitch, it’s definitely not needed. If the music is good, we’ll talk and ask you everything we want to know about you once that step is cleared.

3. Eater has been one of your most recent releases with Subcarbon Records. What about his 4-track Invader EP stood out to you initially?

If there’s something I think is always welcomed in bass music, it is to be minimalistic and pay attention to details. I love that about Eater, he goes straight to the point, and there’s only what’s needed to the tune to hit hard and be extremely efficient. The groove and sound design are top-notch, and I really like his universe. He brings some well-needed fresh air into the scene with that EP.

4. What advice or words of wisdom can you give artists and producers looking to make it on Subcarbon Records?

I’d say, first, try to understand what kind of music we like to see if that’s the right place for you. If you produce something drastically different, like… not Dubstep, Drum & Bass, or whatever, but still have the feeling it might fit, don’t hesitate. I just want to make clear that Subcarbon Records isn’t exclusively a Dubstep record label; we’re open to almost every kind of music from the moment it hits us right in the chest or straight to the heart.

Eater

1. Your 4-track Invaders EP was just released on Ganja White Night’s exclusive Subcarbon Records! What does this release with Subcarbon Records mean to you as an artist?

I feel very blessed for the opportunity to release on such a good label. It really means a lot seeing the hard work pay off. The Subcarbon team has been amazing to work with, and I’m looking forward to future collaborations with them.

2. What were your inspirations for the Invader EP? Did you have any elements you knew you wanted to include when you wrote the EP or did the music come to you as you were writing?

I knew the story that I wanted to tell and the overall aesthetic that I wanted to achieve. That alone gave me enough to define the sounds and style of the songs, the rest came pretty much by itself.

3. What is your favorite track off the EP and why?

They all have a special place in my heart but I have to say,‘Invader’ has to be my favorite track. I’m very happy with the vocals and overall the groove has been a nice change of pace from what I’ve been hearing lately.

4. What is next for the Eater project? What do you and your team have planned in the near future that fans have to look forward to?

My fans will be very happy about the future of the project, We have some very exciting releases coming up and we’re quite literally planning an invasion.
