Sonorous & BASSFACE Disrupt The Balance w/ “Broken Simulation”

We are back once again to further bring the hottest upcoming bass talents to the fore front of today’s electronic scene. On the rise are two individuals that are looking to bring a disruption to the on going frequency balance that hold fabric of this reality together. It’s safe to say they did just that with today’s premiere of “Broken Simulation” , a song that focuses heavy on deep basslines while having the hair lifting atmosphere that simulates traveling through time itself. Now it’s time to take a further dive as to what makes this release what we like to call , a certified bop.

“Do we live in a simulation? Maybe. But if so then it’s clearly malfunctioning…
Through sound is one of the few ways we know how to forget about this broken simulation, even if it is just for a moment. We truly hope this record will allow you to do just that. Immerse yourself in the sound and for that moment, simply exist.”

DIVING DEEP W/ SONOROUS & BASSFACE

1. What kind of impact do you wish to have on the scene 1-2 years from now with your project?

SONOROUS: The impact that I wish to have on the scene in 1-2 years is to just bring more people together with my music and to create a feeling of cohesion or social connectedness. I also hope to inspire other underground female artists to be more confident in their project and or inspire others to explore deeper into the realm of bass music.

BASSFACE: I aim to make positive changes in the scene that are talked about my many, but acted upon by few. Inclusivity and giving power back to the artist is the goal. Always striving to find the hidden talent that’s been overlooked for too long.

2. If you could go back in time and start over given what you have learned in your career so far, what changes and approach would have done differently?

SONOROUS: I think that I would go back and tell myself to have more trust and faith in myself. When starting my project, I was hesitant on whether or not this was right for me and I would always worry about what others thought of my music. With such a daring and vulnerable career path it’s important to have the utmost faith in yourself and your project.

BASSFACE: I actually say this quite frequently. If there’s one thing I would do differently in my career writing music, it would simply be to have started sooner.

Today we get the honor of being left with a jaw dropping 4 track EP that is sure to set the tone for all other releases this year titled “HANDS EP”. If you were looking for an auditory experience like no other , msft is one that delivers without fail regardless of the genre. Let’s take a further dive as to what makes these two final  tracks off the new ep what we like to consider , a certified bop.

“This project is my debut EP, it’s my best body of work and can be considered as the representation of my sound and the evolution of my taste over the past few years. I waited so long before releasing my first EP because I wanted to deliver something that could be 100% msft. The first two singles (Bring / Up and Won’t Stop Spinning) performed well and getting messages from people saying they recognized it was me before even reading the title was so rewarding. Super excited to fully release this project.”

My main inspirations in the music I make today are LSDREAM, Peekaboo and Porter Robinson, I get excited everytime they release music and it’s a very rare thing for me.
Q#2: What would you tell your younger self today knowing where you’re at now and what it took to get there?
I would tell him to work more and to be prepared and strong because in the industry a lot of people want to let you down.

“We are always trying push our boundaries when we make music together, so this was our first time making a straight up half time drum and bass track. Something just clicked with us in the studio on this one and we followed the flow. Really pleased with how it turned out. Even more pleased to have it be released on one of our favorite labels.”

Diving Deep w/ Dalfin & DWELM

1. What would you tell your younger self today knowing where you’re at now and what it took to get there?

.

. I would tell myself to spend more time in the studio and less time lost in the sauce. I wasted a lot of time chasing a high instead of chasing my dreams, but it’s never too late to make big changes in your life to accomplish those goals

-Dalfin

. To my younger self: Don’t have sex. Because you will get pregnant, and die. Don’t have sex in the missionary position, don’t have sex standing up, just… don’t do it. Promise?

2. Who/What are your biggest inspirations in the music you create today?

.

. Influences currently for my production would be SuperAve, VCTRE, and OTT. I try not to pigeon hole my self stylistically but influence for this song is definitely geared towards Keota, bringing the playful goofiness to heavy half drum and bass

-Dalfin

My gradeschool teacher Ms. Blum for doing her best to make me not want to pursue music as a kid. But actually G Jones, Flume, sensei iLL.Gates, Crab Rave, Mr. Rogers Neighborhood, and of course yung Dalfin over here is probably my single
