MLOTIK & Rivibes Present New Single “Breakoff” via Saturate Records

MLOTIK & Rivibes Present New Single “Breakoff” via Saturate Records

Known for his unique storytelling soundscapes, complex beats, and overall stellar approach to bass music, Michal Mlot, better known to the EDM scene as MLOTIK has been transforming minds through music over and over. Today, he has teamed up with none other than UK rapper extraordinaire, Rivibes, to create a dubstep banger unlike any other. Drawing from traditional UK dubstep influences and highlighting Rivibe’s killer vocals, “Breakoff” is sure to enter the ears of any listener with its high-energy melody, strong triple kick pattern, and overall infectious tune. Mlotik never fails to disappoint in delivering the perfect combination of grimey bass drops and danceable rhythms that keep us coming back for more. Let’s take a deeper dive into why we are calling “Breakoff”, a certified bop

“BREAKOFF” is a tune that was constructed off of the triple kick pattern. It was started a couple years ago and evolved since then, with the second drop being solidified in the last couple months. It wasn’t until the vocals from Rivibes came in where it really gave the whole track a whole new meaning and vibe

-Mlotik

DIVING DEEP W/ MLOTIK

  1. What’s the strangest or most unexpected sound you’ve sampled in a track before?

MLOTIK: A couple years ago, I sampled a bunch of stuff from my bathroom. The metal vent grates, flush button, mirror opening and closing, water, etc. The flush button created this gnarly squeak, which I than ran through some processing and put it in a breakdown of “Pressin.” I will definitely go back through that pack after this question.

  1. How do you keep your sets fresh and exciting for both yourself and your audience?

MLOTIK: The sets have a strong foundation that starts with what I want to play out of the MLOTIK discography. Then I start sprinkling in new stuff from fellow producers, some classics, and any tracks I’m feeling in the moment. I love throwing acapellas over tunes, doubling them up, and just having fun with it. It all varies based on set times, locations and what I want to curate as a vibe.

  1. How do you stay inspired as an artist and avoid creative blocks?

MLOTIK: Creative blocks tend to happen. To me, to fellow friends of mine. Finding fresh ways to start ideas in any art tends to be a good first move. Everyones different in their creative self but we all tend to become creatures of habit. I would say using a new synth, downloading new samples, trying a new processing chain, or maybe starting the song differently. These are all great ways to break that habit that might’ve been fueling your creative block. Break the cycle.

  1. If you could create a soundtrack for any movie or video game, which one would it be and why?

MLOTIK: Oh man, scoring games and movies is another crazy monster in itself. I would love a tune of mine to be featured in a future Grand Theft Auto. Such a legendary game and the music in that game fuels alot of the energy I got from it. But scoring a movie or a game, I would go with something like horror, or RPG’s. Something where sounds can go for minutes and they become part of the environment.

  1. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received in the music industry?

MLOTIK: There’s been a ton of advice thrown my way. The one that always sticks out is being persistent, present, and consistent. Those three things are some of the best in this industry because it waits for no one. Time flies, things change but what should remain is those three elements in your life powering the career set forth.

Neotek Disrupts The Balance w/ New Single “ON TOP OF IT”

Neotek Disrupts The Balance w/ New Single “ON TOP OF IT”

Remember the name NEOTEK. There is a reason folks around the globe have not been able to get enough of this artist project and today is no different. With great honor, we come to you today to bring notice of a new heater that is bound to all things heavy and destructive amongst the dubstep frequencies. Today we premiere NEOTEK’s new single, “ON TOP OF IT”, a signature showcase of why fans keep returning to this artist’s catalog of music due to his intense focus on delivering the best of hard-hitting bass lines. Having just been added to this year’s Lost Lands lineup, there will be no better opportunity to catch the Australian-born producer in his prime doing what he does best. Now it’s time to take a deeper dive at to what makes NEOTEK’s new track what we like to call, a certified bop.

“On Top Of It is the culmination of months of hard work to lead to what it is today. I had the idea to put all my influences into one piece of music and I believe I have done just that. The energetic builds and high intensity drops is everything I love about bass music which is why this is easily one of my favourite songs I’ve ever made.” -NEOTEK

DIVING DEEP W/ NEOTEK

1. What’s the origin of NEOTEK for those who are not familiar?

NEOTEK was launched in September 2021. I had a previous project before this but it wasn’t cohesive and I felt as though I needed a fresh start. I started making music in 2016 when I was 15 and have been in love with it ever since. I have experimented with a lot of different styles and genres however, I’m very happy with what my sound has come to and excited about the future of the project. NEOTEK emulates a Cyberpunk, Futuristic, Dystopian world which is represented throughout the artwork and the music.

2. In a perfect world, what do you see yourself achieving later down the line in your bass music career.

My main long term goals are to headline EDC and Red Rocks. I also eventually want to start my own record label when the time is right and permanently move to America. These have been my long term goals for quite some time now and I believe they are more than possible with time and dedication.

3. Any plans for tour dates outside of Australia folks can be excited for, USA mainly? If not, how do you plan to get there?

Playing lost lands this September but aside from that we are planning a US tour from October onwards, Hoping to hit as many cities as possible and solidify myself as a US Touring Artist.

4. What was the creative process like creating this heavy of a behemoth dubstep track, ON TOP OF IT?

I experimented with a lot of different styles of sound design to get to where this track is today. My plan was to pull from a lot of my different inspirations and put it all into one song which now feels as though it truly represents where my sound is at currently. It took months to get the record to where I was happy with it but I could not be more excited to finally have it out and show everyone what I’ve created.

DIVING DEEP W/ KLINICAL

You’re on your deathbed and can listen to one last song, which one would it be and why?

Thats a hard one. My initial thought was Nude by Radiohead as it gives me a sense of remembrance and nostalgia, especially with the reverse chords in the intro feeling like you’re going back in time, however I think that song would be way too sad to listen too on my deathbed haha! I am going to go with Shuffle by Bombay Bicycle Club. They were my favourite band when I was younger and the song reminds me of being at the skatepark skating with friends, a simple time in my life which I always look back on fondly so I wouldn’t mind going out on those memories.

If you could change one thing about the electronic scene, what would it be and why?
Its so hard to say something here without coming across as elitist, but I will say I wish there was more depth and character in electronic music nowadays, a lot of it seems very disposable and unoriginal. There seems to be an ultimate goal of superstardom from some producers as opposed to expression and creating music they’re passionate about. There are many many producers pushing boundaries though so I think the scene is still in a very healthy place.
If you had one message you could share with the world right now, what would it be?
Be kind to yourself.
