DIVING DEEP W/ DALEK ONE

1. Who/what are the biggest inspirations in the music you create today?

Biggest inspirations in music: The Widdler, Ternion Sound, Pharma , DMVU .

2. What would you tell your younger self today knowing where you’re at now and what it took to get there?

I would tell myself to not compare myself to others, cause that only brings disappointment. Believe in yourself and know you are on the right path and good things will come to you.

“When I first started this remix I had so many ideas, in no small part thanks to Holly Drummond’s vocals. Eventually they all coalesced into this track, hope you all enjoy it. Thanks to Jalaya for the hard-hitting original!”

Diving Deep w/ Sigkill

What would you tell your younger self today knowing where you’re at now and what it took to get there?

Musically I don’t really have many regrets. I started out making the music that I wanted to listen to, and that hasn’t changed. Other people liking it is just a bonus. I will say that I wish I internalized music theory more from when I was learning piano, but I try to make up for it by just soaking myself in music every day. Also I would probably tell myself to wear earplugs before going to that Excision show that had like 250kW PK sound because I’m pretty sure that concert single-handedly dropped my hearing range… oh well

If there was an artist you had the chance to collaborate with, who would it be and why?

G Jones, EPROM, Moody Good, Nitepunk, Thelem, Protial, Noisia, Chee, Bleep Bloop, and pretty much anyone who has released on SATURATE Records if we’re talking bass music. Aphex Twin, LITLBIRD, and little snake never fail to impress me with their sound design. I listen to a lot of different types of music in my free time (honestly probably even more than I do bass music), and I think that definitely affects the music I put out: there are a bunch of genres I think I can learn a lot from musically. The most influential genres to my music right now are probably metal, grime, rave, gospel, and JRPG soundtracks.

Ampathic & Shatter Unravel The ‘Dreamscape’ via New Heater

Euphoric is an understatement when describing the feeling you get wupon listening in to today’s premiere brought to you by masterminds, Shatter & Ampathic. “Dreamscape” transports you from the real world, creating an almost weightless feeling as you journey into this alternate reality they’ve skillfully orchestrated through sound. Take a trip into the dreamscape with us and explore what makes today’s premiere what we like to call , a certified bop.

“Dreamscape” is an uplifting, heavy, beautiful track that puts you in a dreamlike nostalgic state. As the track progresses you feel almost weightless entering a new reality during its peak and slowly come back down back into your grounded self.

DIVING DEEP W/ Ampathic & Shatter

What would you tell your younger self today knowing where you’re at now and what it took to get there?

AmpathicI would tell myself to take a step back, watch…listen…..and learn. You will never hurt yourself by listening and gathering information but you can shoot yourself in the foot if you talk too soon or say the wrong thing. You can do anything you set your mind to, but listen and learn

ShatterI truly don’t think I’d give my younger self too much advice. I’ve learned so much through failure and that’s where all my drive has come from to be where I am now. Anything you want to get better at is a grind so I’d tell myself to never give up because you don’t know when and where you’ll find the success if you give up. You only find success trusting the process and putting your nose to the grindstone.

If there was an artist you had the chance to collaborate with, who would it be and why?

Ampathic:  I would love to collab with Minnesota. I absolutely love his entire discography, so many different layers and styles within his entire project. I personally am obsessed with his song breathe i think that is a masterpiece. I believe our similar arpeggiator vibes would mesh very well together and could create something magical and heavy. Or friction because well that would just be a stinker.

ShatterI’d really like to collaborate with King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard. They have continued to be one of my main inspirations because of not sticking to a sound or genre. I highly suggest anyone to listen to them because of such a broad discography. It’s awesome to show someone a band/producer that has something they will like no matter their taste.

DIVING DEEP W/ FUTURE TWIST

What’s one artist you’re grateful for that has inspired you to be where you are today and why?

Pixel Terror has been one of our biggest inspirations over the past few years, and it’s been a huge honor to get to know them, and play direct support for them in our hometown. They’re consistently pushing the envelope on Melodic-Yet-Heavy electronic music these days, and Ahrya’s solo Bosquet project is absolutely beautiful. They’re easily some of the most skilled and talented musicians in the industry right now.

Where  do you see yourself in 5 years and what’s your game plan to get there currently ?

In a perfect world, we’d love to be regularly traveling to different states and cities, sharing a custom audio/visual experience with a heavy focus on storytelling. Our dream label right now is Monstercat, so we’d love to be sharing stages with their roster of amazing artists – but to be honest, we just want the opportunity to share our creative visions and connect with everyone who’s helping us get there. We have sooo much music we’re working on releasing right now, including collabs with some artists we’ve been fans of since highschool. We’re also focusing super heavy on our creative visual representation so that listeners can find themselves exploring our artistic worlds through more than just the music itself.

Canabliss Makes Her WAKAAN Debut via “PLASMA EP”

Canabliss Makes Her WAKAAN Debut via “PLASMA EP”

If there is one thing we enjoy more than the absolute range of frequencies that free form bass has to offer, it’ll have to be the discovery and upbringing of new artists into the spotlight.  Liquid Stranger founded label , WAKAAN , is one of the bass scenes leaders when it comes to showing who is currently in trend and is deserving of such a feature. Toronto-based artist , Canabliss , is here to showcase why she has already found an audience within the community thanks to her high ernergy yet heavy 4 track EP titled ‘PLASMA’. We have been given the opportunity to premiere our personal favorite off the project , “Safety Island” , a track that revolves itself around an auditory expierence based off dark yet eccentric atmospheres. Let’s take a further dive as to what makes this track what we like to consider, a certified bop.

“Electricity is everywhere, even in our own brains. Currents is about forming connections spiritually and physically in life. In this EP ‘Plasma’ I explored new sound design with tons of heavy bass and dark atmospheres to help express some of the more difficult times we experienced these past couple years. In Canada we’ve still been pretty much locked down without any live music available, so writing music has been my primary outlet.”

DIVING DEEP W/ CANABLISS

What’s one artist you’re grateful for that has inspired you to be where you are today and why?

I would say that all the amazing underground artists inspire me the most.
There’s so much spectacular music out there that deserves more recognition! My favourite way to get inspired is by searching through Soundcloud and finding mostly unheard gems that consist of so many innovative sounds. If I had to choose one artist I would say Ivy lab has always made a huge impression on me. They’re one of the first bass artists I had the pleasure of seeing live at a festival in Croatia 5 years ago and ever since then i’ve been blown away by the unique sounds they create.

Where  do you see yourself in 5 years and what’s your game plan to get there currently ?

In 5 years I wish for my project to make a huge impact in the industry. Ive always wished to inspire others to follow their dreams and work hard to get there. I want my music to explore different areas and help bring them together. I aspire to mix prettier sounds with super dark techniques to make a unique type of bass music. I want for my visuals and music to come together to make a special experience for my listeners that automatically speaks “Canabliss”. The game plan is to work hard and keep grinding and one upping myself and creating new goals constantly!
